About the event
We have plans for two very special projects this winter and need plenty of help to make them happen! We're running a volunteer event over two days at the end of November to enable us to:
- FRIDAY - Create a new tree sparrow corridor in an area where numbers have grown from a handful to hundreds over the course of the project.
- SATURDAY - Plant beech trees around three clumps along the Ridgeway so that as we lose the existing trees (which are approaching old age), we won't lose these iconic landscape features. UPDATE: WE NOW HAVE ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS FOR THIS TASK
Please come along and give us a hand - all tools will be provided (but bring gloves and a spade if you have one), and training given on the day. Join us for an hour, a morning/afternoon, or longer - this is a chance for you to help shape the landscape we all love so much!
This project has been supported through the North Wessex Downs Sustainable Development Fund – for more information or to apply please visit www.nwd-landscapetrust.org.uk
