Bat Walk

Time & Location

18 Sept 2025, 18:45 – 20:30

Avebury, Avebury, Marlborough SN8 1RE, UK

About the event

Our ever-popular annual bat walk will be led by Sarah Jupp of the Wiltshire Bat Group, who will give us an introduction to the seventeen resident bat species we have in the UK, including info about their breeding, roosting and feeding behaviour.  Special bat detectors will be provided so you can hear the bats calling as they hunt around the trees and buildings.

  • Please wear stout footwear, bring a torch, and a jacket as the evening will get cooler as the sun drops.

  • Accompanied children over the age of 7 welcome but sorry, no dogs. No charge for 7-15 year-olds.

  • Meeting place will be given when you book.

We think we have a good spot for the event but just need to do a recce nearer the time to make sure there are lots of bats around. The venue will be confirmed by Monday 8th September.
