Time & Location

About the event
Niamh McHugh and Jodie Case from the Owl Box Initiative will be leading a workshop on barn owls, their ecology, habitat use, and behaviour. As well as learning lots of new stuff, the first ten MDNEP farmer members to sign up will also get the opportunity to build a barn owl box (worth £120) to take back to their farm.
The Owl Box Initiative is working with groups of farmers across Wiltshire and Hampshire to inspire them to work for the conservation of the iconic Barn Owl. As a top predator, the Barn Owl provides an indication of ecosystem health, and conservation measures that benefit wider farmland biodiversity. The project also aims to connect people with farmland wildlife and promote a better understanding of wildlife friendly farming measures. You can find out more about the OBI here>>
