About the event

Our ever-popular bat walk (recently postponed from Sept 9th and 30th) will be led by Ali Rasey, Wiltshire Council Countryside Officer, who will give us an introduction to the seventeen resident bat species we have in the UK, including info about their breeding, roosting and feeding behaviour.  Special bat detectors will be provided so you can hear the bats calling as they hunt around the trees and standing stones.

  • Please wear stout footwear, bring a torch, and a jacket as the evening will get cooler as the sun drops.
  • Accompanied children over the age of 7 welcome but sorry, no dogs.
  • Meeting place will be given when you book.

This event is free to attend and is held with kind permission from the National Trust.

This event will be in demand and therefore should, nearer the time, you are unable to make the event please do let us know by emailing Janinka at mdsfn.events@gmail.com or texting 07818 426060.

The Space for Nature Events and Outreach Programme is partly funded by Farming in Protected Landscapes, a Defra grant scheme administered by the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
